Sidekick users get some love

In the sidekick download catalog there is a new category called “customer appreciation”. This is filled with various free apps for downloading including Twiiter, 2010 NFL, Prank box, sudoku hq and more. This is likely happening because of the outage and you will need to download before december 11th.

BOGO Covers Droid and Droid Eris (Limited Time)

Verizon

Verizons popular buy one get one deal WILL cover the Droid and the Droid Eris which is pretty great news.  Here’s the catch though, the deal will only last from December 4th (tomorrow) to December 7th.  Pretty sucky for such a short period of time but damn that is a great deal.  I wouldn’t mind splitting the price with a friend if I wasn’t with T Mobile for another year but I can’t.  Hopefully these phones are as good as all the hype around them.

Nintendo DSi Mario Bundle Ships Tomorrow

The new Nintendo DSi Mario Bundle ships tomorrow, December 8th.  The DSi has been out for quite some time but this new bundle will sell really good because of the Mario name.  The bundle ships with 5 pre-installed Mario themed games already on the system.  These games are:

  • Mario vs. Donkey Kong™: Minis March Again: Can Mario and his Mini Marios rescue Pauline from Donkey Kong’s clutches yet again?
  • Dr. Mario™ Express: Mario once again dons his stethoscope to battle the forces of illness in this downloadable version of the classic puzzle game.
  • WarioWare™: Snapped!: Wario™ returns with more manic action made especially for the Nintendo DSi system. WarioWare: Snapped! uses the built-in Nintendo DSi Camera to make players the star of the show by placing them right into fast-paced mini-games.
  • Mario™ Calculator: Mario and Luigi™ take a break from their normal adventures to dedicate their heroic talents to working with numbers.
  • Mario™ Clock: Mario Clock includes both analog and digital clocks that use the system’s internal clock or allow you to offset the time however you like.

Sounds like a pretty sweet bundle.  ESRB Price is $169.99 and if you order from Gamestop you can use the promo code, 3DAYDSI, to get free 3 day shipping.  Or you can walk to Gamestop and get it on the spot and shred a few calories too =p

Is The T Mobile Sidekick Line Gone?

I recently walked into T Mobile and saw there were no sidekicks on display, anywhere. Now the Global outage that erased thousands of people’s information began around October 3rd. At that time T Mobile stopped selling the Sidekick but it is now December 3rd. I myself have a sidekick and all the problems from the outage were corrected over 2 weeks ago so why is T Mobile not selling the sidekicks anymore? Is the Microsoft purchase of Danger recently a sign to the end of the sidekicks? Are they going windows mobile? Hopefully these questions get answered pretty soon because the sidekicks have pretty good following but people are realizing there are better phones out there and will switch.

New App For iPhone Users Makes You Mario

iRwego is an app that is very intuitive and can make you feel like your in a Mario world. The idea behind the app is to put the iPhone in your pocket and let the accelerometer do the rest of the work. You jump and the iPhone makes the popular jumping sound. When you crouch down you will hear the “worp worp worp” sound as if you are going down the green pipe. If you play Mario you know the other sounds it’ll make. I haven’t tried it out but it sounds like a great fun app for any Mario lover.

I wouldn’t count on it lasting too long though as Nintendo owns the Mario image.

Pope and 2 Pac brudas?

His Holiness is either trying to “get down with the bambini” or he really does enjoy listening to 2PAC’s ‘Changes’ and Muse’s ‘Uprising.’ Presumably he can relate to the lyrics “I’m tired of being poor and even worse I’m black.” He’s no stranger to the tech world, having dabbled in some light SMS spamming on an Australian visit last year, and now he’s contributed a playlist to MySpace Music, which features tracks from his favourite brudda, Tupac. MySpace Music has just launched in the UK, 15 months after it debuted in the US, and along with the Papal one’s dubious choice of choons, Beyonce, 50 Cent and Nelly Furtado have all chosen songs too, though none claim to share “the aim to reach the heart of good minded people” quite like the Vatican.
